You need a valid payment method on file with Apple, even for free apps. They won't charge you for free apps but they need a payment method for ID purposes and in-app purchases. You could try purchasing an Apple gift card and using that.
PS. There is no such model as a 56. If you have an iPhone 5 or 6 you may have difficulty installing apps anyway as most apps require a higher version of the operating system than a 5 or 6 can run.
