My iPhone won't play sound in my car

It was working until 3 days ago. I've tried turning off my phone and disconnecting my device, then reconnecting it. It says my phone is connected but I can't hear anything, no videos or music. I'm very frustrated.

When your iPhone stops playing sound in your car even though it was connected and working properly before, it could be due to a number of problems with either the phone or the car's audio system. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

1. Check the volume:

- Make sure that the volume on your iPhone is not set to mute and that it is sufficiently high. Also check the volume on your car's audio system.

2. Restart both devices :

- You mentioned restarting your phone, but try restarting your car's audio system too. For some cars, this may mean turning off the car completely and restarting it.

3. Check Bluetooth connection :

- Forget the device in your iPhone's Bluetooth settings (Settings > Bluetooth, tap the "i" next to your car's name and select "Forget this device"), then re-link it.

- Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices connected to your car that could interfere with the connection.

4. Check Do Not Disturb restrictions :

- If Do Not Disturb mode is enabled, it may prevent sound playback. Check the settings on your iPhone (Settings > Do not disturb).

5. Check the car's audio settings:

- Some cars have specific audio settings that may need to be adjusted or reset.

6. Use a different cable:

- If you're connecting via a cable (such as an AUX or USB cable), try using a different cable to see if that's where the problem lies.

7. Software update:

- Check if updates are available for your iPhone (Settings > General > Software Update) or for your car's audio system.

8. Reset iPhone network settings:

- This may resolve problems with Bluetooth connectivity. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings. Note that this will erase all saved WiFi networks and passwords, so use this option with caution.

9. Consult technical support:

- If after trying the above steps the problem persists, it may be worth consulting your car's manual or contacting your vehicle's technical support or Apple for help.

These steps should help resolve the sound problem between your iPhone and your car. If the problem persists, there may be a hardware problem with the car's audio system or with the iPhone itself, requiring professional inspection.
