Mail is taking forever to load messages. Why? addendum

I found this email thread when I asked the googlesphere about slow Mail files loading. I tried the EtreCheck tool and it reported some unsigned Oracle java code files - and since I recently attempted to update java, I deleted those and then deleted all of Oracle java (via terminal: sudo rm) to see if might be the problem. After a restart of the system and a couple times restarting Mail, the lag time in loading has (apparently) ceased.

as we say YMMV.

Or DNS problem?

System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

well, as I wrote, "your mileage may vary".

removing Oracle java does seem to have helped - but the lag time is not completely resolved. some (a comparative few) messages still don't load in a timely manner.

perhaps this is an internal Mail client problem after all.

Addendum:

Slow message loading was helped by removing Oracle java, but intermittent slow behavior continues. Whereas before it was every message, now it seems to manifest with some (not all) that include graphics, so perhaps a combination of (java +) MIME issues.

I'm not sure how to monitor that.
