I keep getting messages from update-mac.com telling I have a virus. I. don't want to click on it.

Go under safari settings, go to the websites tab and on the left side go down to notifications. The websites will pop up, select the update-mac.com one and deny notifications. After doing that make sure its select it and click remove and voila!
