iPad's microphone modes are not available for recordings or other apps

Hello, I have recently bought an iPad pro 2022 (m2)and I just figured out the microphone modes are unavailable for me to change. I can change them through FaceTime but while recording my voice or using other apps such as GoodNotes and GarageBand the options are unavailable and all that is being recorded is the tapping sounds on the iPad.

Is there anyway that I can fix this issue? I am helpless 😞.
