After erasing my hard drive, on restart attempting to reinstall the OS X El Capitan, having entered my iTunes Id and password I am getting the message;
AN Unexpected error occurred while signing in
The server gave an error during download: 403 forbidden
i signed out of iCloud and iTunes before erasing my hard drive.

OS X 10.11 has to be downloaded using a web browser.
Trying to create a bootable installer would be another option, if you don't have a TimeMachine backup.
