can't dismiss keyboard on iPhone

I have an iPhone 8 running iOS 16 and on the login page of the Enbrighten app, I am unable to dismiss the keyboard so that I can access the Submit button covered by the keyboard. In some other applications I have seen an icon of a keyboard that when tapped will do the trick but that is not displayed. Swiping down from just above the keyboard does nothing. When I attempt to scroll the page up to display the button it just bounces back down and won't allow me to tap it (even if I am fast!). I have Force Quit the app and re-launched it to no avail.

I was speaking with the App support and they only had the suggestions mentioned above. Any other ideas welcomed.
