Imported Photos from Mac, now can't edit/delete them

After a failed iPhone backup, I was able to recover my photos and videos that were lost, back onto my Mac where the backup took place. (I didn't have icloud to automatically transfer my data from my previous phone to the next one and chose not to do it in-store with the 2 devices together.) To transfer my newly recovered photos/videos back onto the new phone, I used my USB-C to connect the devices and put the folder containing all my media into the connected phone 'folder.' The transfer was successful in that I was now able to see my photos/videos in my photo app, however came the issue that I have now. They are in a separate folder titled, 'From My Mac' which is not visible in 'My Recents,' but I can see them in 'Library.' When I tap on an individual picture there is no 'Delete' button or when I press 'Edit' it tells me 'This photo is not editable. Do you want to duplicate it and edit a copy?' My question is, is there any way for me to delete a lot of the unnecessary photos I have in this album and still be able to access the rest, just not from that folder?

iPhone 6s, iOS 13

None of the images and videos in the "From my Mac" albums can be edited or or deleted directly on your iPhone. This folder is showing synced photos - they are just shown in Photos, but are not a part of the Photos Library.

You can only delete them by syncing again. The newly synced photos will replace the previously synced photos.

What you could do is to use the option duplicate the photos you want to keep. For each photo you want to keep use "Edit" and save a copy of the photo to your Photos Library. Duplicating the photo will save it to Photos, like photos taken with the camera. This copy will stay when you sync again to erase all previously synced photos.
