iPod nano plays same song repeatedly

It sounds to me as though you have the iPod in Repeat 1 mode. When you tap the Repeat icon to "turn off repeat", the iPod goes into Repeat 1 mode. Tap the Repeat icon again to turn off the repeat function.

On page 18 of the 7th gen nano user guide (which you can find at iPod nano 7th gen user guide ) is the following picture of the Now Playing screen (to which I have added the orange text and arrows):

As you will notice, there are two double arrow icons:

1. Shuffle (which is a simple on/off option)
2. Repeat (which cycles through several options each time you tap it)

If it's the same as other iPods I've used, each icon will turn blue when it that function is"on".

While the Shuffle button is a simply on/off one, the repeat is different. Each time you tap the Repeat icon, it cycles through the following options:

• • Off - repeat function is off, so when the list of songs finishes, the player stops
  • Repeat - when the list finishes, the same list plays again
  • Repeat 1 - when the current song finishes, it plays again. There will be a small 1 in the repeat arrows icon, to indicate that Repeat 1 mode is on
  • Off -repeat is off

Even if you have a different model of iPod, the on-screen function of the Repeat icon is the same, so just look for the double arrows pointing to the other arrow's end.
