Documents folder deleted, found in the Bin, but can't restore?

I have a 2017 MBP. I had a Documents folder on my desktop where all of my work/school folders and files were stored. I don't know why/when/how I did this (maybe when I first got the device 6-7 years ago).

I was meant to delete a PDF but with the slip of my finger, I accidentally deleted the folder and all of my documents have disappeared! I've gone into Finder > Settings and Documents is not even listed! I remember it being listed under Favourites before I accidentally deleted it.

It is also not in the Trash Folder. I have not removed anything from the Trash folder.

I did not keep any backups :(

Can someone please assist, i'm very stressed at the minute.

UPDATE --

I've found the folder in the Bin but for some reason I can't restore:

The cloud icon on that folder indicates that is is/was a folder being synced with iCloud.

You can visit your iCloud account on line with your browser, sign in and see about recovering your documents from that location. I believe iCloud allows up to thirty days time to recover deleted files.

For more info on that, please see:

And for future reference, also please see:

It's easy to do.
