iMac2021 won't drive my HP Envy Photo 7164 printer

My iMac 24inch, 2021, won't drive my HP Envy Photo 7164 printer anymore, Ventura 13.5.1 OPS.

Is this a common problem?

Thank you

Hi,

The HP ENVY Photo 7164 All-In-One Printer is listed as a supported printer in About AirPrint - Apple Support (en-us edition, January 23, 2024). This means that it should work for printing without an additional driver, provided that the printer is connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router) as your iMac. An AirPrint printer is compatible with macOS 13 Ventura.

If needed, HP offers drivers and special software as well for the printer in question.

How is your printer connected?

If a wireless printer connection is used, a full power-cycle procedure (do not forget the router) may help if an AirPrint printer is not properly recognised:

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the HP printer, the iMac, and all other computers/devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the HP printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iMac. Finally, power on all other computers/devices.
