Can't physically connect my iphone 14plus to my Dell pc.

I would like to connect my iphone 14plus to my Dell Inspiron PC USB port on the Tower. The charging wire that came with the iphone fits the iphone port but I can only use the other end with an adapter with a plug to put into my wall socket for charging. I purchased the USB -C to USB adapter at the Apple Store and it is not compatible with either my iphone or my PC USB port. What do I need to accomplish this? I'm not sure what kind of USB port is on the PC Tower. Looks like USB 2.0? I plan to connect via WiFi in the future but the instruction say the first connection has to be via UCB port.

Thanks for any suggestions.

You iPhone 14 Plus came with a Lightning to U\SB-C cable.

Lightning end connects to the iPhone, USB-C end connects to the power adapter or to USB-C computer ports.

One option would be to purchase a Lightning to USB cable. See: Lightning to USB Cable (1 m) - Apple

There are also adapters (that I have not personally tried). One example: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charger-Converter-Samsung-AirPods/dp/B07ZXFX7DN/?th=1

Is your Dell Computer standard USB input or USB C? iPhone 14 is not USB C. So the cable you bought is not the appropriate cable for an iPhone 14 model. If your computer is standard USB, you need a lightning to USB cable. like what used to be supplied with iPhone a few years ago.

This would likely be the cable you needed to purchase: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MXLY2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-cable-1-m?fnode=e0d88b923b67a8a7f12f935add87276da7fee7210797152a30c6d72f760690efc3bd0bad0e3983f1792cc7b012e4b8805179a7fd819b0be25fcf06543274a8185c98a0289576e2d337732d5f8c90c20e477a9f361fb95ebc6e7e0ac59b936abe262c62ce7b7be078e93693c6f76c97d785cf0e428358b5f5f372bfe8af4581f9&fs=f%3Dcable%26fh%3Df4d496%252B45c4

If your Dell is more modern and has USB C inputs, then the cable which came with your iPhone should work. Just unplug the cable from the charging brick and plug that end into your computer. Again, only if your Dell has USB C input.

The iPhone 14 has a Lightning port on it, so you need a Lightning to whatever-port-your-tower-has cable or adapter.

We can't tell you what that is, since we can't actually see your tower so have no way of knowing what the port on it is, but the likelyhood is that its just a standard USB-A port.

If you provide a picture of your computer's ports we can be more specific.

If its a USB-A port, something like this should work.
