I have an iPhone 13. I have been using an older Apple charger with a USB A port with its USB A to lightning cable, which is now showing signs of fraying. The iPhone 13 came with a USB-C to lightning cable. How can the older USB-A charger be used for charging the iPhone 13?

I have used the new cable with a USBA Male to USBC female adapter from eBay for about £€$3 and the old 5Watt block. Slow but steady.
I NOW use a 15W USBC block from Amazon for about £€$5
Apple blocks are superb but overpriced IMHO
You should use at least the 20W Apple power adapter to charge your iPhone 13 and the USB cable which came with the iPhone.
If the old USB cable is damaged, is is not save to use it anymore.
I learnt there could be safety and power-sharing issues in using an older USB-A Apple charger with a “USB A-USB C(“male”)-USB C - lightning” set up for the iPhone 13. The information is since USB C is not a jack, the concept of male/female does not apply in a cable. So the only recourse seems to be to buy a USB C 20W Apple charger.
That is not the issue. The only cable that came with the iPhone 13 was a USB-C to Lightning cable. How can the old USB-A output charger be connected to the iPhone 13.?
Note that using a USB-A power brick and a Lightning to USB-A cable may result in slower charging speeds.
