connecting iPhone 13 to USB A Apple charger

I have an iPhone 13. I have been using an older Apple charger with a USB A port with its USB A to lightning cable, which is now showing signs of fraying. The iPhone 13 came with a USB-C to lightning cable. How can the older USB-A charger be used for charging the iPhone 13?

Apple makes a Lightning to USB-A cable that they list as being compatible with the iPhone 13.

They say the cable supports charging and data transfer at USB 2 rates, but not audio or video output.

I learnt there could be safety and power-sharing issues in using an older USB-A Apple charger with a “USB A-USB C(“male”)-USB C - lightning” set up for the iPhone 13. The information is since USB C is not a jack, the concept of male/female does not apply in a cable. So the only recourse seems to be to buy a USB C 20W Apple charger.
