My Bose QC45 mic is muted when using Google Meet or Slack

Any time I want to use my Bose QC45 in a Slack or Google Meet call, I'm only able to hear but I can't speak. I get this message that says "Your mice is muted by your system settings". When I check in settings I can see that the browser (Arc) has permission to use the microphone. This is what I've tried:

  • I've also tried restarting my MacBook Air M2.
  • Forgetting and pairing again the QC45.
  • Removing microphone permission and giving it again to the browser
  • Checking in Settings - Sound - Input and output, selecting Bose QC45

However I still run into the same issue. This is some info that might be useful:

  • I'm running my MacBook Air M2 on macOS Sonoma 14.3.1
  • The Bose QC45 is updated to the latest firmware

MacBook Air, macOS 14.3

Just found out what it was.

The headphones themselves were muted.

Long press on the left ear button to unmute.

(it probably got pressed in my backpack or something like that.)
