Free up space on iCloud deleting photos without losing originals.

Hi,

I am a photographer and I have over 200K photos on iCloud.

I have spent weeks saving originals through Photos app. How can I now free space deleting all or some photos on the cloud without deleting the originals on the drive ?

Thank you.

You could make a new Library. Then disconnect the old Library from iCloud, do what you want in iCloud Photos, and then connect the new Library and wait for it to populate with the remaining iCloud pictures. Many of us use multiple Libraries, keeping archive libraries separate from the working Library.

You can create a new Library by closing Photos and option-clicking the Photos icon-- you'll get a dialog listing your Libraries and offering to create a new one.

Many of us use  PowerPhotos ($30), a trusted 3rd Party app, to help keep our several Libraries straight.
