New iPad within same home
My husband has given me a new iPad but it automatically transferred his data.
How do I set up my preferences, So that he keeps his own separate on his iPad?
It’s like I need a reset!

Sounds like your husband set up the iPad from his iPad or using a backup of his iPad.
Yes you will need to restore it to factory settings and set it up again.
You will need your husband's Apple ID password to restore it though.
