Reverse Bluetooth "Forget this device" instruction

The "Forget this device" instruction in Bluetooth settings is very easy to hit, even by accident & it is useful if you have a number of devices & accessories. The instruction is carried out without the need to confirm it. It seems inconceivable that those responsible for the software have neglected to arrange a simple, easy & reliable way to cancel the instruction & yet I cannot find any way to do it on MacBook Pro or iPad devices. Where am I going wrong & why did 79 people confess to having the same problem?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.7

most bluetooth devices has to be put into pairing/discovery mode the first time one connect to them,

if one has made ones device forget a bluetooth device one has to perform the same procedure

how one goes about putting a bluetooth device into pairing mode differ of cause from device to device it should be in the documentation of the device or on the manufacturers site

or you can probably find a guide by googling

"strange bluetooth tophat (or whatever the bluetooth device in question is named) pairing mode"

but it doesn't. Once I tell any of my devices to forget a device, the device doesn't see it at all. Most are accessories that don't have any controls of their own but rely on the computer, iPad etc. to sort things out but it refuses to see the accessory, so can't pair with it. Surely someone, somewhere must have an answer to this problem? If there wasn't a solution at present, then surely the best brains at Apple would be working on a fix to go in the next update.

Are you saying that your 3 computers are able to see Bluetooth accessories that they have been instructed to forget? If so, do they appear in the list of devices but greyed out or on a separate list? At home I had instructed 2 MacBook Pros & 2 iPads to forget a Bluetooth keyboard & headphones so I could use them with a Mac Mini but I'm currently away from home with one MacBook & one iPad Pro 12.9" which can't see them at all.

I am saying, I have control over any Bluetooth enabled devices used on any of the 3 computer I own and operate.

None of the the bluetooth devices on any of the computer require any Third Party Software installed to make them function.

When I choose to Forget the device, they are forgotten
