Various books are no readable in the Books app since iPad mini update, “not properly formatted”, all purchased from apple directly and downloaded into the app over the years, and suddenly unable to open them. Any thoughts?

See if closing the app and force restarting helps:

No. The app works, newer books are still readable. It’s books that I have purchased more than 3 years ago that are now “not proper format”
