Quicktime 10.5: Playback Color Shifting Back and Forth

For at least a couple years I have not been able to use the QuickTime Player that came with my M1 Mac. Every time I play a video back the color shifts back and forth at various intervals, made worse by moving the mouse. It happens on any .mov video, whether mine or anybody else's.

Just today I opened a Davinci Resolve tutorial video and it's doing its usual back and forth. Can't find a thing on the web about it. I would prefer to use QuickTime but am forced to use a third party viewer ie: MKPlayer, VLC, Final Video Player, or Fig Player. All play videos without this problem.
