Siri Dictation Deletes After Releasing Button on Apple TV Remote

This WAS driving me crazy. If I tried to use dictation search within an app on Apple TV, upon releasing the button on the remote the entry would erase itself. Turns out, there is a ‘allow mic access’ setting. One that is enabled, everything works fine. BUT once you allow access…that setting disappears!? If not I’d tell you exactly where to go. I assume it’s a bug in the software and not ‘dark patterns’.

Siri dictation issues with AppleTv remote When I hold the microphone button to dictate text to my AppleTV in the YouTube app Siri converts my voice to text, search results start to show up and then as soon as I release the microphone button the text disappears and so do the search results. I’ve tried resetting the remote, checked the charge level, played around with when I release the microphone button, etc and nothing seems to work. Thanks for any help / ideas.

Dictate search in app via Apple TV not working as expected anymore Longtime Apple TV user. I usually highlight a search field in apps like YouTube or Netflix and dictate using the remote to type, however only recently this does not work as expected anymore and opens Siri instead. It doesn’t matter if the search field is highlighted or not and it is affecting all apps.

My voice search via Apple TV remote Long time owner of Apple TV…..for some reason when I use voice search speaking into Apple Remote ..:/it only searches via Siri rather than the search function within individual apps. For examples..::.when. Speak a search into YouTube ….it does not search within YouTube but does general Siri search. Again…:.just started doing this in past few days.
