How to recover a deleted Gmail inbox caused by the iPhone mail App

How do I get rid of the app or set it so that it does not delete from the server?

Is it possible to recover those messages?

If I delete the app from my phone will it take all of my messages (in folder, sent, drafts, etc.) with it?

Contact Gmail directly and ask if they can recover the messages. I once accidentally deleted mail from my Yahoo email account and I reached out to them and they just needed a date range for the deleted messages and they were able to restore them. Apple doesn't have access to anything in your Gmail account, so Apple can't help restore them.

That doesn't answer the question. I've already cross-checked and they're gone - from inbox, trash. The messages were dumped from the iphone mail app.

The question again is - are they recoverable? If so, how?

The iphone mail app is garbage and I want to remove it but - the question again - if I do, will it take all of my messages with it? If so - how can I disable it?
