Keyboard and trackpad not working

Hello, I have a problem with my Macbook Pro 13 (Early 2013). My keyboard and trackpad are disconnect when the temperature of my macbook reaches 100+ degrees (the thermal paste is changed). There's only one solution on this issue - restart the laptop.

Please help,

Thanks.

You have a fault— in a 2013 I would suspect the keyboard/trackpad cable needs replacing...

these "cables" are actually not cables but flexible circuit boards, usually mylar, with printed circuit traces taking the place of wires. This type of cable can experience cracks in traces due to aging, heat, vibration, impact or abrasion.

note— intermittent generic failure, the electrical continuity of a cracked trace on both sides of the crack is very often a function of the temperature of the unit at the point where the crack exists. As a unit heats up, it expands, and as it expands, the crack widens, eventually forcing a complete electrical separation to exist on both sides of the crack, hence a failure. As it cools down, electrical contact may once again be restored.

Also, the first thing I check when both keyboard and trackpad fail is the battery. A swollen battery puts pressure on components of both and can cause unexpected inputs or complete failure. A swelling battery can also destroy the computer if not immediately addressed.

Carefully look at the seam between the bottom cover and the chassis. It should be tight and uniform.

You can also place the computer on a known flat surface (solid-surface stone or composite countertops are usually truly flat) and see if the computer rocks on its feet. It should not.

The display not fully closing is another clue.
