How do I transfer a Page's File into a second Pages File with the former not be opened?

Not possible is correct. Pages does not support external linking of documents into a master document — but MS Word and the free LibreOffice do.
It's called copy/paste as Pages cannot import another Pages document into another, nor can you merge two Pages documents either.
Thanks for your reply. Copy/paste is the simple solution if I was seeking to place a one-page text file into another, but I was hoping there was a technique to move a folder of 8 pages into another file so that ultimately a series of folders would become part of the latter, each of which could then be opened as needed. This is apparently not possible.
