How make App's names appear above Apps in the Dock of MacBook Pro?

i know for a fact there is a simple check box somewhere to turn the app names that appear above apps in the dock on and off i used it several times and now cannot find it again to my save my life i know for a fact its there but can find no info anywhere on it its like apple does it on purpose someone knows please help

There used to be a setting in Safari to not show the name of the links when the cursor if over them but I con't find it now. As for the Dock I've never seen an option to disable the rollover.
