can you have the same id for all your Mac products but a different password for your iCloud on a specific Mac?

Sorry, no. There is only one password per Apple ID.

iCloud and all other Apple services, including this forum, use your Apple ID.

Why do I have two Apple ID/iCloud passwords? I have one Apple account, which to me includes iCloud (but does it?), but two passwords. I never consciously did this. At one point my login password changed to the password on one of my Apple computers. (So I guess that's a secondary question: should I be using the same computer account on two machines? If so: how?) I can't always predict which password is required, but I'll only fail once so I have always got in. But what's up with that? (A certain PatsyKB51 asked this in 2023: no satisfactory answer that I saw.) Thanks to all.

One login for all apple product use Why is it important to have an apple id password, and a Mac login since they seem interchangeable? Seems easier to just change the Mac login to the same as the apple id since either can get us to the same place. Looking for logic beyond my thinking.

Can I use different passwords for iCloud and my Apple ID? Just a yes or no answer. Can the password associated with name@icloud.com be different from the password associated with AppleID. thanks [Re-Titled by Moderator]
