Error connecting with Apple ID server

I am trying to reset my computer password and it keeps saying that it cannot connect to the Apple ID server but I’ve entered the correct username and password.

MacBook, macOS 10.15

Cannot connect to the Apple ID Server while trying to reset the password on a MacBook I have not used an older MacBook in a while and forgot the password. Now, when I try to reset the password by logging into my iCloud account it gives me an error “There was an error connecting to the Apple ID server”. Even if I try to reset my iCloud ID and password, it says there is no internet connection when my internet is connected to a stable Wi-if network.
