I was at 17.3 public bet version that I upgraded to 17.4 public bet but issue is still there. Can we raise defect for it?

My issue got resolved. Steps to resolve:

  1. Convert physical sim to eSim ( This is the step where issue is there)
  2. Wait for sms service to be activated
  3. Request for new airtel eSim for the same device and install it
  4. Reboot the device
  5. Your issue is solved

Trying again worked for me. Like Serivision and others said here.

Go to Airtel Thanks App > Upgrade to eSIM in the SHORTCUTS block (you may need to tap on show more) > A pop will come eSIM detected transfer eSIM to new device (this is the only option - so tap on it though you are not really transferring eSIM to another device) > Select eSIM for this device and request again for the same (Get EID from Settings > General > about) > Wait for setup to complete. Now go to Settings > Mobile Service > Add eSIM . Now you should see Setup eSIM and tap on it. Problem will get resolved.

Actually you should be able to see a "Setup Mobile Service" notification when you go to "Settings" right in the top. You should be able to use that as well.

Hello people, I was able to rectify the esim issue with two simple steps.

problem - Moved my physical sim to eSIM using Airtel app. The eSIM started working but I was not able to see it in the top right yet I was able to make calls, send SMS and receive OTP etc.,

Step 1 - This happens because of the email ID that is not linked to your number. You will have to register and verify your email ID using the Airtel app. Open Airtel app - Click on your profile - open profile - enter your mail Id - click on verify (a mail will be sent) - go to your mail box - click verify. Your email ID will be instantly added to your registered mobile number.

step 2 - use the Airtel app again - Shortcut - Upgrade to eSIM - enter OTP (Sent to your registered Mobile number). Now delete old eSIM and add the new one and you will instantly see the network bar on the right corner. Please note sms services will not work for 24 hours.

hope this helps !

Note - Do it post 24 hrs when you can see that you are able to receive SMS. No need outgoing SMS be working.

Guys whoever is facing this issue i can explain in few steps and this works 100% for airtel India people who are converting physical sim to Esim .

1.First via the my airtel apps raise the request under manage services you will find. Wait for the request to be processed.

2.A notification will pop up requesting to convert to Esim after that process will take place and you will find no sim but network would be there for calls and data but SMS would be disabled for 24 hours.

3.After Waiting for 24 hours when you start receiving SMS then create a new request under my airtel app it will ask Esim transfer request kindly click proceed enter for this device copy Eid enter opt wait for the notification to come for Esim.

4.Once it arrives wait for the process to be done and then you would be able to see signal select all primary in data calls everything and restart.

5.Once rebooted go to network turn of the old line and delete the old Esim.

6.Congratulations you have converted from physical sim to Esim.

Had the same issue, found the solution on a reddit post

https://www.reddit.com/r/Airtel/s/QN1LLQJAzY

I was able to make and receive calls once i switched to Airtel's esim but was unable to see the network bars and also showed me "No Sim"

After 24 hours I raised a esim transfer request through the airtel thanks app (select same device) and re install the esim

works fine now!

This worked for me.

If you are not seeing any network and still able to make calls, receive them and use mobile data then this can be one of your solution.

I followed below steps.

1) Make sure you are able to make calls receive messages.

2) Open Airtel thanks app, Upgrade e-sim

3) Enter your EID and otp.

4) After it being successful, wait for 2 hrs you will receive notification on your phone to finish the setup.

5) Make sure you are connected to Wi-fi.

6) Now proceed to finish the setup and restart the device.

Voila you can now see the network of your airtel e-sim.
