Does Apple Music download expire even if your subscription is still valid?

On my apple music account, I’ve downloaded songs and it happened that these songs were deleted as downloads twice (they’re still in my library, just not available offline). I’d download them again and then the next month they’ll be deleted as downloads again - so my question is, do songs expire or is this a bug?

Missing CD music on iPhone after starting Apple Music trial I am on a trial subscription of Apple Music. I previously loaded music onto my phone from CDs that are not in Apple’s portfolio. None of these favorite and hard to find songs are on the phone anymore. I legally own all of them. Can I get them back? Or is Apple Music the wrong service for my needs?
