Itunes on Mac mini M2 on Sonoma
Someone no too familiar with Apple's new apps writes, seeking for help.
For a long time, I transferred my CDs into iTunes and organized them in Playlist folders and playlists. Though exhausting, the transfer work was rewarding because I could happily listen to my music and enjoy iTunes commands. I just purchased a Mac mini M2 on Sonoma MacOS 14. Much to my surprise, I could not find iTunes on this system and have been informed by a friend that this program no longer exists. The only thing shown on the Mac mini is an icon called 'Music'. A nightmare.
I always considered and used iTunes as a database system for music. In that context, I would kindly ask you the following:
1) Is the new app (Music) a replacement for iTunes? That is, can my music files, stored in Users > Music > iTunes Media > Music, be transferred to the Music app and organized in the same manner?
2) If yes, how should I proceed? Is there any tutorial you could recommend?
3) If not, can I still use iTunes (with my music files) under Sonoma? I appears that the Apple Store no longer has an app named iTunes.
4) Finally, if the former is not also possible, is there any program/app accepted by Sonoma with which I could transfer my music files stored in iTunes and listen to them again?
Thanks for your kind help.
