My 15 Pro Max, takes amazingly in focus photos. If you open the Settings app > Camera, down at the bottom there is a setting for Macro Control, which I'd turn on, not turn off. What it does is have the camera decide if you are photographing something up close and it automatically switches to the ultra wide camera to capture macro photos, when appropriate.

When you say your camera takes blurry photos. Are you using the right camera for the job? While iPhone camera is pretty much point and shoot, you do need to choose the right camera for the scene you want to take a picture of. And you need to decide if you're taking a Photo, or Portrait or Cinematic, etc.

Here's are a couple support articles on how to use the cameras on your iPhone:

Thank you for the help. My macro control was ON, I have turned it OFF based on other people's experience. I just didn't know how to find it. It's not like the labels on things make sense! Thank you for the step by step instructions.

Any photo taken with this Iphone is absolutely useless and blurry. (I bought it for the camera - I believed the advertising (silly me)). I used a tripod but could not get a focussed photo at all. I only take close up photos of plants.

A person was asked today (also only photos botanical specimens) what they thought of the camera, she replied, awesome but be sure to turn that MACRO thing OFF. I had heard this before but couldn't find it.

I will try it with the macro OFF.

Thank you for the file addresses they will be helpful too.

Hello again, I do not have any covers on the lens. Apple Support said that perhaps I had dirt on the lenses and I should clean them. It sort of astonished me; an out of focus photo is easily described, a blurry spot from a finger print or something is its own thing.

I posed this question before and the answers were interesting, I am sure you will be interested but I don't know how to direct you to that thread. People on that thread almost suggested that the camera was a dud and a lot of people were unhappy.

Only today I thought I would try to fix that macro thing, it seems to be an error that occurs in the camera choosing what to use as a focal point. Read your suggested manual near the end, there is a lot of "intimation" there regarding the macro settings being somewhat difficult to manage.

So glad you are getting good photos, it appears a lot of other people are not. Have a nice evening.
