24h time on login screen

I have a Macbook Air M1 with Sonoma 14.3.1 and I have set my machine to 24h time in Settings >> General >> Date & Time. I have also set for it to appear as 24h on the lock screen on the same Date & Time settings screen. However, when I restart my computer on the initial login screen it shows 12h time. Is there anyway to fix this?

Incorrect time 2014 MB Pro login screen When opening the lid of my MB Pro 2014 running Big Sur, the time in the upper right corner is incorrect if the mac lid is closed and the mac is idle for a while (haven't figured out how long the "while" is yet). However if I then login to my account the time is correct. I safe booted yesterday with no change. I just reset the NVRAM and SMC, closed the lid and will check back in a few hours to see the results. Just wondering if there are any other suggestions out there? Many thanks

how to extend time before the computer times out I want my iMac to stay on longer before it times out and asks again for my password.
