Attempting to install Kali Linux and VMware on my 2023 MacBook Pro M3. I am reaching out to see if anyone has any suggestions for an error free install.

For assistance with VMware Fusion, contact Broadcom VMware Support.

Per Broadcom, “VMware Fusion 13 can run on Macs with Intel or Apple silicon which support macOS 12 and later”, so that should work, and there is a Kali build for Arm if not specifically for Apple silicon, so that could work.

You will need to download and use a version of Kali built for Apple silicon AArch64 Arm, or you will need to use Kali for Intel and a virtual machine that is capable of providing both virtualization and emulation, such as UTM. (AFAIK, Broadcom VMware Fusion does not support emulation, so that second path isn’t an option for Kali Intel builds.)
