Uninstall Documents by Readdle though I like Spark mail

I need to Uninstall Documents by Readdle though I like Spark mail.

With Documents by Readdle installed, it replaces my Documents in iCloud Drive in many applications & uses. Files I save or move to Documents cannot be found in my iCloud Documents or in the Documents by Readdle app whatever and wherever that is.

I like Spark mail very much because I have been able to block the jillions of political soliticitors that send me 200 to 400 solicitations per day.

But I must end the disappearance of files I send or move to Documents.

There is little or no info on the web but apparently Documents by Readdle got installed with Spark.

Spark Mail is available in App Store. "Documents" is available in App Store with peculiarly little or no info and no way to find its uninstaller.

Thank you all! I uninstalled Spark and Documents by Readdle almost entirely disappeared. I reinstalled Spark because I like its ability to block senders, and Documents by Readdle, though it does still appear in some unimportant places, it is no longer obstructing my ability to save files to my regular Documents folder.

Glad to hear you got it resolved!

I found it, not in the column to the left, but in an app?? buried down in System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Applications/iCloud Drive.app

I deleted it and another called Scanner by Readdle.

I expect your statement that Spark didn't install Documents by Readdle is correct. well I maybe not!

I can't figure out how/why I thought it was related to Spark. I'm reinstalling Spark.

Well--- but Spark install says, "Spark wants to use your confidential information stored in 'com.readdle.spark.account.auth' in your keychain." So Spark and Readdle are connected.

I created the app-specific password, etc., and got the welcome message:

"Hello d****@icloud.com

Thank you for downloading Spark. Our team has worked really hard for the past four years to create the best email experience for you and your team across all Apple devices. I hope you love the result!

Spark has been the most challenging product we’ve ever worked on. Here’s the short story of why we created Spark and a few hints about where we are going.

Once again, thank you for trusting Spark with your email.

Alex T.

Readdle Co-Founder and Spark creator."

Spark seems to again be working OK and thus far there's no Documents by Readdle in my iCloud Drive.

This is totally confusing to me. I hope relating it all to you makes some sense to you. Please let me know.

OK you say Documents by Readdle was not installed by Spark.

There is no Documents in my Application folder, nor in my startup drive other than refs to my regular Documents folder on my iCloud Drive. except the below

Searching my startup drive for Readdle finds: note the readdle.Documents items:

I've wasted far too much time on this. I don't understand it.

App Uninstaller lists the items it will uninstall and it doesn't list the above.

I open the app Spark- it doesn't show the above readdle.Documents items.

But I'll go along with your recommendation and drag the Spark app to the trash and empty it. If it doesn't delete the Documents items found above, I'll again search my drive for Readdle and trash all it finds.

Sincerely, IdrisSeabright , thank you for your help!!

Did all that, Trashed Spark and emptied. I'd set up TM App Uninstaller but had it hidden so I told it to run. I said it couldn't remove one item without my password, gave it 3x, dragged the items to the trash and emptied. Searched drive for readdle, selected all, trashed and emptied. Restarted- Apple Mail seems to be working OK.

BUT look Documents by Readdle is still here!!!

Thank you! I’m aware of that method of uninstalling and often rather use Trend Micro’s App Manager Uninstaller which I believe is more certain to remove all accessories than perhaps just trashing app. But as it’s apparent that the Spark install included many accessories including Documents plus at least one other that’s reported to NOT be removed with Documents, I’m hoping the developer (who is that apparently not Readdle?) has a real complete uninstaller. Searching has found nothing so I guess I’ll try TM Uninstaller on Spark (I’ve found no installer or even app for Documents by Readdle) with serious doubt that it will succeed. Peculiar apps! I think Documents was even highly rated by Apple! I’ve asked Readdle, no response.
