How to deal with robo calls?

Robo calls have taken off to a new level, insane … up to two calls a minute. I have enabled ‘Silence unknown callers’ but it means to add every occasional phone number to my address book in order to receive that call.

I use Numbershield to block calls, and I have blocked complete area codes but that cannot be the solution long term.

Any recommendations ?
