Can't change a profile's temp default password after time machine restore

But no matter what new passwords i try, when I hit the reset password button the box simply shakes and my only option from there is to cancel. It won't let me change the temporary pass nor access the profile with the temp password.

It's been about 3 weeks since restoring, I have docs on the 2nd profile which I really need and trying to access them is driving me crazy. Any advice would be very welcome! TIA

See if you can change the standard user permissions/ownership so you can at least share files and folders as admin(?)
