Brand new cable won’t charge my iPhone even though it charges my AirPods

I lost my old charger a few days back, and I decided to charge my iPhone 14 ProMax with a brand new cable that I got from buying my AirPods Gen 3. It’s a USB-C to lightning cable. The cable works perfectly fine with my AirPods but it can’t charge my iPhone at all. I have tried cleaning the ports and nothing changed (and it worked perfectly fine prior to the cleaning, with the old cable of course). I’m pretty sure the cable is not damaged as well since it’s able to charge my AirPods. I have also tried allowing permission on accessories in the settings but came to no avail. Please what should I do apple?

Well first off, you are not talking directly to Apple employees here. We are just fellow Apple-product users trying to help other users, like you.

If I understand your post correctly, you want to use the Lightning to USB-C cable that came with it to charge your iPhone 14 ... correct? I'm going to assume that that is a "yes."

What about the "charger" you are using? What is its make & model? FYI, the iPhone's "charger" is built into the phone itself. The device you use with it, is a power adapter which supplies the necessary electrical current to that charger to work.

Well, basically both devices came with the same Lightning to USB-C type cable ... so, in theory, this cable can be used with either device for charging.

As far as the power adapter, I couldn't find this one at the Apple Store. Maybe they sold it before. Regardless, unless the two ports on this adapter are rated differently (power-wise), this too should work. Do not that @ 67W it would be an "overkill" for either of these devices.

  1. Ah, I see, sorry I'm new here
  2. No, the new cable itself came from my AirPods 3rd Gen, the old one I was using was the original cable from purchasing the iPhone 14 Pro Max but it's gone now
  3. For the adapter, I'm using the adapter from my MacBook Air M2, it works with charging my iPad, AirPods, and of course my Mac, but it just won't charge my iPhone. I believe it's not the cable's fault too because it works perfectly well with charging my AirPods, so I purely believe that what's at fault is my phone's system to not accept and allow new cables to charge the phone. Now my phone's battery is also dead and IDK what to do, I think buying another cable would be a waste too since my current brand new cable is not working as well, no? What are your thoughts on it?
