Character Viewer won't close on Macbook

Hi, I opened Character Viewer for my emojis and realised it wasn't typing in the emoji I was searching. I then went to click on an emoji to see if it would input anything. It is not responding at all. So I thought, oh I will just close it. It will not close, by both the "globe" key (I do not know the name) and by the red exit button. Neither are working. I can't get rid of it. (I can't shut my Macbook down as there's stuff I need)

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.2
