How do I fix the touch sensitivity on my iPad Gen 2

I have an iPad Gen 2 and the touchscreen is going nuts. I cannot schedule a repair as I have no electronics store, repair center or Apple Store near me. I am not a technician either so I cannot fix this myself. Is this normal and how can I fix it.

iPhone 16 Pro Max - Touch Screen Sensitivity I found this thread by chance and also have this problem with the touchscreen not responding or responding very poorly at times. Even an update to ios 18.2 has not brought any improvement. Are there any new findings in the meantime? .
