How do I stop someone from tracking my AirPods?

My spouse’s ex is attempting to pair her AirPods (found hidden in her minor daughter’s purse) with my iPhone to track me and her daughter. How do I prevent This? What does she see on her end?

What Apple suggests doing, and how this all works:

What to do if you get an alert that an AirTag, Find My network accessory, or set of AirPods is with you - Apple Support

Here? you could recycle them. Or contact police or legal counsel, and report your suspicions.

There are other and more effective means of tracking which do not involve Apple devices or equipment, and do not show up to you, as well. Hence “counsel”.
