Is it safe? “System software from developer "Other World Computing" has been updated”

When connecting my iPhone via USB on my MacBook, I had a dialog saying that a software update is required to connect to my phone. I accepted. The installation finished and my phone is connected. Then there was a message saying that I must allow a third-party app… which seems weird!?!

So is it safe to allow this?

Thanks for your answer.

No, I don't have any software from OWC.

Was the "update required to connect to phone" legit?

I did a factory reset on my phone and that update request happened when plugging it for the first time on my Mac.

And the "allow OWC" request happened after that update.

I didn't install anything else at the same time.

It says "system software from OWC", so it seems to be related to the system 🤷‍♂️

Is there a way to get information about the software mentioned in that security alert (in system settings)? (why isn't there a link beside the "allow" button!?!)
