Incorrect number of machines authorized is shown. Unable to reset.

When i log in to Apple music, I am unable to authorise my machine and I get the message that I have authorised five machines.

When i go to the account settings in music, it states that One machine is authorised to play content and does not give me the option to deauthorise all machines.

How do I break the cycle?

On your Mac you can try System Settings > Click on your Apple ID > Click on Media & Purchases > Under Account click on Manage Button. There you may see the Deauthorize All button.

Otherwise can you access a copy of iTunes, or Music on a different build of macOS? From there you should be able to reset your authorizations and start over. Alternatively reach out to Official Apple Support and ask for their help to reset your authorizations.
