disabling autosync on ALL devices?

I've already gone to preferences in Itunes and checked 'prevent auto sync on all devices' yet it still does it from my phone when I get in my car. What else am I missing?

The Setting in iTunes only applies to iTunes, it has nothing to do with your car whatsoever.

To prevent contact syncing or downloading to the car, you would need to turn that option off directly in the car's media center settings.

Consult your car's user guide for how to do that if it offers the option.

  1. CarPlay Settings: If your car supports CarPlay, there might be settings within the CarPlay interface affecting auto-sync. Check your car's settings or the CarPlay settings on your iPhone.
  2. Bluetooth Connection:
    1. Auto-sync in cars is often triggered when the iPhone connects to the car's Bluetooth. Check your Bluetooth settings:Go to "Settings" on your iPhone.
    2. Tap on "Bluetooth."
    3. Find your car's Bluetooth connection and tap the 'i' icon next to it.
    4. Look for an option related to music or media and disable it.
