Can't login with TouchID even if activated

I am working with Sonoma 14.3.1 and activated TouchID. When it was activated I also needed to set a Password.

What I want to do is login with my User just by using the TouchID, but I still need to insert my user password. I looked into the System Settings > TouchID & Password and see that "Use TouchID to unlock your Mac", but this obviously does not work and I still have to enter my password.

In general, it is working when I am logged in, e.g. for Authentication in the AppStore. Just not for login of my user.

What can I do?
