Why is mic turned off on my iphone. How do i tyn it on? Now the mic i

On my iPhone 8 Plus it appears my mic on phone is permanently set to mute. The icon for the mic has a line drawn through and I suppose clicking on it should turn it on again, but the iPhone microphone or voice out is still muted. What can I do?

The microphone is not working. Not in videos, not for dictation. It does not work. I connected earbuds and works with those for phone calls but not for dictation. I have turn off then on. I tried a hard reset. I googled every way to look through settings to see if something was turned off. That’s what it seems like. That there is a setting that got turned off, but regular phone doesn’t work either.
