Find My not finding watch

Find My does not work for my kids Apple Watch 8. It has never shown a location. Cellular was activated 2 days ago. Kids iCloud shows the location, but both parent phones have “no location found.” Parent phones are both iPhone 13 Pro Max, latest iOS (17.3.1). One parent with Apple Watch Ultra 2 can use Find me for their watch, works perfect. Bothe watches are WatchOS 10.3.1.

Thanks for listing what to check. I just looked again,

You have iCloud Family enabled for you and your child -> Yes.

Your child has an iPhone -> No, but does have an iPad. The location for the iPad is up to date, where the Watch is reporting to me that it is still at a place 40 miles from me (where we were yesterday). The Apple Watch has cellular and a plan from Verizon. Maps on it work, as do other location apps on the watch.

Ensure location sharing is turned on on the childs apple ID -> It is.

It helps me to double check I had the right things set up!

I am assuming you have iCloud Family enabled for you and your child. I am also assuming your child has an iPhone. Ensure location sharing is turned on on the childs apple ID. to do this go to settings > family > location sharing and make sure it is turned on. Location on all your childs apple devices should now be seen and tracked in the find my app. hope this helps.
