Can I retrieve my WhatsApp chat using my iCloud or Apple ID password?

Hello. Can someone please confirm that it is my Apple ID password which is the same as my iCloud password is the password I will use to restore my WhatsApp chats?

I have been trying to restore but it keeps saying incorrect password on every attempt even though it is the password I have been using.

I have now changed my Apple ID password which I assume is also my iCloud password(please correct me if I am wrong).

Should I go ahead to input the new password? I only have one attempt left and I can't afford to lose my backup.
