How to unpin a contact in Messages on iPhone?

I have one contact name that only shows up at the top of my message screen, never shows in the sequential list of names, therefore I don’t receive a notification she has sent me a message. How do I get her name back in the sequence?

It appears that you have that contact pinned at the top of the Messages list. Actually, you should get a notification when that person sends a message. It is just difficult to notice at times.

To Unpin that contact, Open the Messages app and display the messages list. Touch and Hold that contact’s name until a sub-menu appears. Choose Unpin and the contact should return to the message list.
