This was not always the case but I can only get on zoom on my phone. My MacBook Air does not allow for the audio to be checked and then I get the spinning rainbow wheel. This has been happening now for months.

Is your Mac paired with Bluetooth Speakers? Remove them, or verifying they are working first with the sound preferences/settings.
Is your Mac's audio anything more than 16 bit 48kHz? Audio Midi Setup utility in Applications -> Utilities can verify that.
If you are running any optimization software, remove it.
Bring it in for service at an authorized Apple repair center.
Applications is found in the Finder.
command-tab select the Finder.
Go menu -> Utilities
You'll find Audio Midi Setup utility there.
Go menu -> Applications you'll find the Applications folder there.
Under settings, bluetooth, it says "now discoverable as "my name MacBook Air". But this is not on
Also - I am not running optimization software and I don't know how to find Audio Midi Setup. Where is Applications located?
Found it and it is 48kHz
Nothing that I have done or looked at has worked. Any other suggestions?
