I have a 2014 macbook pro and want to buy a new compatabile mac but don’t know which model. What current product is equal or better?

We can't know exactly what you mean by compatible. But one thing for certain is any 32 bit apps you have will not work on any Mac running Catalina or later.
RAM and memory refer to the same thing. A hard drive or SSD is referred to as storage.
Other than that, we can't tell you what to get. We don't know what apps you plan to use, which greatly determines how much RAM and storage you need. Though in general, more of both is always better.
Thanks Kurt Lang for your response. I don’t really mean compatible but a modern device with improved spec’s and atleast 16gb ram and at least 512gb memory.
