Turning off mouse acceleration woes

I have a Mac Studio at work and a Macbook Pro at home.

When I switch off the mouse acceleration at home and use a mouse, the pointer feels like it moves at roughly the same speed as it did with mouse acceleration on, but obviously without the mouse acceleration. It feels good. The mouse speed is set to 6/10.

On my Mac Studio, if I turn off mouse acceleration (which is my preference), the mouse suddenly feels REALLY fast at the same 6/10 setting as I use at home. I have to go all the way down to 3/10 but it still feels to fast, but at 2/10 it feels way too slow.

What's going on here, any ideas?
